On this occasion, audio-visual works created by artists who are active in sound, gestural, and multimedia research will be given screenings. The works will be introduced by Elena Marceschi, video art scholar and researcher at the University of Pisa, in dialogue with the curators of TRK.

The Factory, Giovanni Magaglio Log Out (audiovisual work) [Production: Tempo Reale]
    Mario Gabola (IT)

TRK. SOUND CLUB’s second event is composed of two sets presenting the fusion of video, electronic music, and unexplored sound sources. The first set will present Log Out, an audiovisual work originating from the collaboration between composer Giovanni Magaglio and the The Factory collective, blending innovative styles and technologies ranging from video art to plastic arts, from sound elaboration to industrial technology. The second set hosts Mario Gabola, a ground-breaking musician from the Neapolitan experimental scene: after a debut in rock and post-punk, Gabola devoted himself to free improvisation, developing refined extended techniques on saxophone; his research on new sounds also led him towards the construction of lo-fi electronic sound sources.

    SILENCE•NO•SILENCE

52-Hearts Whale -TRKitalia | Jacopo Mittino
    Back To Silence
Tempo Reale Electroacoustic Ensemble: Agnese Banti, Tazio Borgognoni, Francesco Giomi, Leonardo Rubboli, Stefano Rapicavoli
    Concept: Francesco Giomi
    Production: Tempo Reale

The first event of the year explores the relationship between sound and silence: an almost provocative total noise performance (/Confini/, curated by 52-Hearts Whale, a pseudonym of sound designer and performer Jacopo Mittino), is presented alongside Back to Silence, a sonic action centred on the search for silence (conceived by composer Francesco Giomi), with the participation of the Tempo Reale Electroacoustic Ensemble featuring musicians Agnese Banti, Tazio Borgognoni, Francesco Giomi, Stefano Rapicavoli and Leonardo Rubboli. Absolute noise is contrasted with the absence of sound, with the objective of exploring, even just as a disciplinary exercise, the concepts of awaiting and of attention for the beauty of listening.
