TRK. Glitch Club, edition II: November-December

TRK. Glitch Club 2023 concludes with two events dedicated to multidisciplinary experimentation and to the dialogue between different sonic worlds. In the first, the multifaceted musician Massimo Pupillo (IT), who throughout his career has interfaced with many different artistic disciplines and musical genres, presents  Ploutonion, his new audiovisual project inspired by the universe of the underworld. The second concert hosts a trio made up of three masters of free improvisation: electroacoustic musician Jean-Marc Foussat (FR), saxophone player Guy-Frank Pellerin (FR-CA), and guitarist Eugenio Sanna (IT).
The two events are divided into two sets: the first hosts one or more international artists, while the second is a Glitch Party, i.e. a free improvisation on the theme of glitch, open to all interested musicians according to the linked participation methods.

Massimo Farjon Pupillo + Glitch Party

Throughout his career, Massimo Farjon Pupillo (IT), one of the most eclectic musicians on the Italian and international scene, has ranged across many musical genres and artistic disciplines. In 1997 he founded Zu, a formidable experimental rock group, with whom he has played all over the world and recorded about 20 albums, three of which were published by the label Ipecac Recordings, run by Mike Patton, with whom he also collaborates. At the same time, Pupillo has worked with leading figures of contemporary and experimental music, such as Terry Riley, Alvin Curran, Katia and Marielle Labèque, Viktoria Mullova, Giovanni Sollima, and Barbara Hannigan. His sonic research has also crossed paths with theatre and dance: over the years, Pupillo has collaborated with Romeo Castellucci, Chiara Guidi (Societas Raffaello Sanzio), with American choreographer Meg Stuart, and with the Dewey Dell dance and performing arts group, among others.
For TRK. Glitch Club Pupillo is presenting Industrial Slave 23, his new audiovisual project inspired by the concept of underworld.

Jean-Marc Foussat, Guy-Frank Pellerin, Eugenio Sanna + Glitch Party

Electroacoustic musician Jean-Marc Foussat (FR), saxophone player Guy-Frank Pellerin (FR-CA), and guitarist Eugenio Sanna (IT) are three masters of free improvisation. Many different visions and musical experiences meet in their electroacoustic trio, where keyboard instruments (AKS synthesizer, piano), wind instruments (soprano and tenor saxophones), string instruments (amplified guitar) are all brought into dialogue, along with strips of metal, balloons, cellophane, toys, and voices. Jean-Marc Foussat, of Algerian origin, is a sound engineer and experimental musician, and one of the leading European figures in concrete and electroacoustic music. Guy-Frank Pellerin has been part of Alan Silva’s Celestial Communication Orchestra, and has collaborated with Bobby Few, Noel Mc Ghie, Frank Wright, Steve Lacy, Didier Petit, Itaru Oki, and Sunny Murray, among others. Eugenio Sanna was one of the founders of C.R.I.M. (Centro per la Ricerca sull’Improvvisazione Musicale – Centre for Research on Musical Improvisation) of Pisa and is an active promoter of improvised music through concerts, seminars, workshops, meetups, debates, and articles. He has performed with Giuseppe Chiari, John Zorn, Edoardo Ricci, Tristan Honsinger, Eddie Prevost, and Derek Bailey, and many more.
