22.06-14.10.2019
Sound projection by Francesco Canavese and Giovanni Magaglio
22 June – 14 October
The first retrospective dedicated exclusively to the video-film production of Liam Gillick (Aylesbury, UK, 1964), one of the most important international contemporary artists, who in his activity explores the cultural, political, economic space-time of late capitalist society , reclaiming the reflection, awareness, and participation that are still possible for the individual. Curated by Alberto Salvadori and Andrea Viliani, the artist’s most important videos and films will be presented together for the first time, in a setting specifically designed to integrate the vision of the works into the architecture of the museum. Each room will be marked with different but mutually satisfying interventions (posters, wall paintings, synchronisations of sounds and images), which will outline an actual cognitive journey, even before visiting.
Tempo Reale has worked with Francesco Canavese e Giovanni Magaglio on the sound projection.
