TRK. Sound Club | by Biodiversità Records and Tempo Reale

TRK. Sound Club, Tempo Reale’s series of events dedicated to musical experimentation, returns after four months of forced stop. Starting in February 2020, TRK. Is part of the Aundici aggregation project, created in collaboration with organisations and cultural workers who program and spread experimental music in Tuscany: Ambient-Noise Session, Biodiversità Records, Fango Radio, NUB Project Space, Oltrarno Recordings, and PHASE.

    Wednesday 8 July, 20.00 hrs
Terrazza di Villa Strozzi, Via Pisana 77, Florence
TRK. Sound Club, by Biodiversità Records and Tempo Reale
    Echo Terapia
    Matteo Castro

For the first time, July’s event will be held outdoors, in full respect of all safety measures so as to create an unprecedented listening experience directly linked to open air enjoyment. The concert’s location is the panoramic terrace located behind Villa Strozzi, inside the park and overlooking Florence. The event will host two sets: a live set by Echo Terapia (presented by Biodiversità Records) and an electronic improvisation by Matteo Castro (presented by Tempo Reale).

Echo Terapia is a two-headed project formed by Pietro Michi (FossaDelRumore) and Massimiliano Fortunati (User from PT) – live electronics – designed to highlight the spaces between auditory reception and its response from the central nervous system. Silence remains the main player, as an enemy of full sound. Noise represents us, confusion is known to us, structure remains fundamental.

Matteo Castro is a musician (using magnetic tape, field recordings, and electronics) and music producer who began his activity in the 2000s within Vittorio Veneto’s prolific independent scene, culminating in the experience of Codalunga. By filtering the anarchy of extreme noise music through the tight meshes of disciplined electroacoustics, he has created an aesthetic and sonic universe which is extraordinary for its consistency and personality. Castro moves like the architect of a virtual sound space, unstable but frontal, formless, and continuously evocative. Already active as Kam Hassah and Endless Sea, his new solo project titled Mercury Hall adds a new step to an extremely stimulating path. Among his group experiences are Lettera 22, Primorje, Drug Age. He is the founder of the record labels Second Sleep – active since 2007 – and Musica Moderna.
