LAMPI | Series of audiovisions, 1st part
10 March Online
11-12 March PARC / Piazzale delle Cascine 7, Florence
Audiovision is the quintessential relationship between sound and image, the inseparable artistic dimension between the visual and acoustic planes. Lampi is the beginning of Tempo Reale’s all-out investigation into the many different expressive forms of audiovision, with a regular alternation between fixed art and live performance. With no limits of language or genres, but with a constant tension towards research.
Programme:
Thursday 10 March 2022, starting at 19.00hrs, on Tempo Reale’s social media channels
LAMPI DI RETE | Online audiovisual marathon
Lampi opens online with a flux of international audiovisual works, coming from members of the CIME/ICEM – International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music and from the audiovisionielettriche.it portal. These works will be broadcast on Tempo Reale’s social media channels (@temporealefirenze).
Friday 11 March 2022 19.00hrs, PARC / Piazzale delle Cascine 7, Florence
Fabio Scacchioli and Vincenzo Core | LA DESCRIZIONE DELLE STELLE FISSE
“In the Ptolemaic model of the universe, the fixed stars support the boundaries of the celestial vault. The Cassini-Huygens probe, with the tens of thousands of images it successfully sent to Earth, is an extension of humanity’s gaze over the universe. And the eye generates or perceives illusions, such as fixed stars. Time is a way of seeing, and of listening. Time is the final, and most remote of the fixed stars.”
Fabio Scacchioli, videos; Vincenzo Core, music
Marco Monfardini | UNLOG
In UN-LOG (literally “to disconnect”) Marco Monfardini uses the log file as a metaphor to investigate the log/time we live in. A digital memory that seems to replace human memory, a memory that takes notes on our behaviour, an unconscious map where every movement and every decision is digitally recorded and memorised.
Performance conceived in collaboration with Carla Chiti
Saturday 12 March 2022 19.00 hrs, PARC / Piazzale delle Cascine 7, Florence
Giulio Latini and Alessandro Cipriani | SHIPWRECKS/NAUFRAGI
Shipwrecks/Naufragi is a visual work that draws inspiration from Le Radeau de la Méduse (1819) by T. Géricault. Between visible and invisible, the language, signs, and bodies of yesterday’s and today’s Shipwreck short circuit into a painful trilogy of the deep decline of meaning. Where the wood of the cross and the planks of a drifting raft mingle and merge. But the final housing of humanity lies not in the darkness.
Within the sound are echoes of market-life and of distraction-life, marking the time of days and months, and electroacoustic variations of the first 16 bars of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St Matthew Passion (BWV233, n.1), bringing about the dispersal, the mechanicity in the search for elsewhere of the infinitely small in which what we cannot yet understand is hidden.
Giulio Latini, video; Alessandro Cipriani, music, sound design, and words
Økapi | OTIS. VERTICAL TALES
A 15-floor electronic suite for just as many possible tales. A tribute to Otis Elisha Graves and the invention of the elevator, the narrative device par excellence, where cut-up artist and plunderphonic music representative Økapi processes sounds and images in parallel within his compositional process.
