II DAY OF THE A.D.S.I. TOSCANA ARCHIVES

Tempo Reale is participating in ARCHIVI.doc: a day that aims to reveal to the public the archives of historical houses located around Tuscany’s cities and provinces.

The archives of Tempo Reale originated as an agglomeration of materials acquired and produced by the Centre, from its foundation to the modern day. Upon proposal by the Archive Superintendency of Tuscany, in 2012 this heritage has been awarded the recognition of “historical interest of particular importance” by the Regional Directorate for Cultural and Landscape Heritage. The archive collects documentation related to the centre’s musical production and to its many activities carried out in the scientific, didactic, organisational, and managerial fields: preparatory sound material, digital production material, audio/video productions, posters, librettos, letters and papers. Furthermore, the “Partiture” series preserves scores by composers from the second half of the 20th century (approximately 600 pieces, by masters such as Daniele Lombardi, Salvatore Sciarrino, Stefano Gervasoni, Sylvano Bussotti, Paolo Castaldi…). By its own nature, the collection is constantly being updated and the production or acquisition of new materials requires the continuous integration of its content.

Activities offered by the Archive on this day:

    – Exhibition of rare musical scores from the second half of the  20th century and other archival materials

    – Guide to the peculiarities of Tempo Reale’s archive: the electronic musical heritage.
