BARRY TRUAX @ Florence
9 December 2021 – Villa Strozzi, Florence
The exploration of the universe of sound has taken two opposite but complementary directions: the domain of microsound, where frequency and time are interdependent, and the external world of sonic complexity, namely the soundscape. Computers are increasingly providing tools for dealing with each of these domains, such as granular synthesis, convolution, and multi-channel soundscape composition. In this workshop, Barry Truax offers his personal view of the sonic universe, where these two domains integrate in their complexity. At the end of the workshop there will be a listening session with sound examples.
