In 2025, the Centre’s historic Studio B was renovated, becoming—in all respects—Florence’s first concert venue equipped with an immersive multichannel sound diffusion system featuring loudspeakers distributed across multiple vertical levels, named GLOBO. Beginning with the 2025 inaugural edition of “Magnetica – Incontri di musica elettronica”, a space fitted with fourteen high-quality loudspeakers arranged in a hemispherical configuration, in addition to two subwoofers, started hosting a concert series focused on the enveloping listening of fixed-media electroacoustic works. GLOBO also enabled the production of multichannel interpretations (using Ambisonics techniques) of two landmark electronic works by Luciano Berio, subsequently performed on multiple occasions during the recent international tour “Berio 100”.
