Following the pandemic period and due to the reflections that have emerged within the cultural debate, Tempo Reale has directed its attention towards two emerging themes: the role of open space in performances focussed on sound, and the poetic idea of “neverending sound”, detached from the idea of an “event” and intended even just for few spectators at a time who are however free to enjoy it at will, with no constraints.
The conception of sound actions to be performed in Parco di Villa Strozzi in Florence, an important city park and central concert venue which also hosts the headquarters of Tempo Reale and La Limonaia, has been the subject of a public tender. Over seventy sound artists answered the call: five very different projects have been selected, according to the proposed criteria of sustainability and to pertinence to the suggested themes. The result is an utterly heterogeneous image, which highlights the great vitality and creativity of the Italian sound art scene, something Tempo Reale has devoted its attention to and participated in for several years now.
