When Francois Bayle conceived the idea of the Acousmonium, in the early seventies, he had not imagined that over forty years later it would have become one of the most widespread instruments for interpretation of music on recorded support. This is an actual loudspeaker orchestra, where each element “plays” with a different timbre connotation, leaving the performing composer with the possibility to explore space and perspective in an extremely engaging manner. An Acousmonium is being installed in Florence for the first time, thanks to a collaboration with the French group Motus.
