For the first time, florentine fluxus movement artist Giuseppe Chiari (1926-2007) is included in the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino festival, thanks to a second part of Maggio Elettrico which turns back towards the recent past of Italian musical experimentation, reworking it at the same time. La Luce is an audiovisual installation produced by Tempo Reale in Turin for Artissima 2018, reinterpreting an original score by Giuseppe Chiari (La luce, 1966). The installation offers a dialogue between gestures of noise and of silence, duplicated in the relationship between light and darkness, opening a reflection on the very meaning of music. Loudspeakers and light sources, positioned in the dark space, are activated according to a specific score, thus creating an original dramatic itinerary, using sound materials all derived from the domain of electricity or from carefully chosen sound landscapes.
