SUONO NUCLEARE | Workshop with Giorgio Sancristoforo
An in-depth look at the possibility of using radioactive phenomena within the electronic music and sound art fields.
Registration deadline: May 5th
The border zone between arts and science may become one of the most fruitful musical research frontiers of the coming years. In this workshop, Giorgio Sancristoforo will offer an in-depth look at his uniquely personal research, aimed at the possibility of using radioactive phenomena in the electronic music and sound art fields, with a reflection on the poetics of nuclear sound and sci-art.
The workshop will range from an introduction to the scientific foundations of radioactive decay and of the main nuclear reactions, their detection and measurement, and possible applications in the music field thanks to modal synthesis and digital lutherie on Autodesk and MaxMSP. The workshop will conclude with a retributive performance in Studio B of Villa Strozzi.
This workshop is particularly suitable for students of electroacoustic music, electronic music, and new media arts, with a background of MaxMSP or Pure Data.
