Screening Friday June 12, 2026, 14:30 hrs, Sala Pegaso (Piazza Duomo, Florence)
A workshop on inclusion and awareness through music, dedicated to the women’s section of Sollicciano Prison. Drawing on the anthems of the various nationalities present in Sollicciano, the aim is to creatively explore a dialogue between cultures that speaks of inclusion, tolerance, and peace. Selected musical texts that are particularly significant to the national identities of the various participants will be the inspiration for the creation of an original collective peace anthem, through a songwriting process led by Massimo Altomare with the support of singer and choir director Benedetta Manfriani. During the workshop, external guests (professional musicians and choir members) will be invited to participate in the choral singing sessions to foster an increasingly inclusive atmosphere that will help the inmates feel a connection between the inside and outside of the institution.
A documentary film will be produced at the end of the workshop, taking the experience and the message the inmates wish to leave for the entire community outside the prison walls.
