In the theory of general relativity, a white hole is a hypothetical region of spacetime which cannot be entered from the outside, and from which matter and light can only exit. In this sense, it is the opposite of a black hole, which can be entered from the outside but from which nothing, including light, has the possibility of escaping. Therefore, some believe that white holes can be the other extreme of a space-time tunnel that connects black holes with extremely distant regions of our universe, or even with other universes.
