Second module of the training course
After the positive reception of the first phase, Tempo Reale is returning to educational activity with the theme of “creative coding for music”, organising a training course on music programming which will be held in Florence during Winter. The scope of the course – which is intended for designers, musicians, artists, programmers, and anyone working in the fields of multimedia arts and Interaction Design – will deal with the current and innovative themes of this discipline.

CREATIVE CODING COURSE
Split into two modules of about 60 hours each, the course introduces the basics of computer programming applied to sound and video elaboration using the Processing language and the principles and functions of Human-Computer interaction systems (HCI) with sensors and micro-controllers (Arduino); this is an applied theory course with workshops where students are guided through the conception, planning, and creation of instruments and interfaces for interactive audio/video environments and installations.
The course has a limited admission quota and is designed for a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 participants. The classes will be taught by musician and technologist Mario Guida along with the operators of Tempo Reale, and will be held on weekends starting from November, with two weekly appointments each lasting 5 hours. At the end of every module a public presentation will be given showcasing works created during the course.
Registration is possible for both modules or for only one. We also recommend attendance of the first module to those who wish to engage with the themes of Interaction Design but are not provided with basic programming knowledge.
The cost of a single module is 400 euros, with the possibility of paying in instalments.
Registration deadline for the second module: January 10th, 2014
